Paradise Coffee Kopi Luwak is grown organically, and shade grown in the forest covered mountains of South Sumatra in Indonesia. The extremely rare Paradise Coffee Kopi Luwak is made of 100 percent pure, wild, and organic medium-dark roasted Robusta whole beans.

The beans are collected by hand by coffee farmers from the shade grown coffee forest, where the wild civets live. This product, collected by the farmers, helps directly sustain the livelihoods of those who are providing land and sanctuary for the rare Civet.

Wild civets selecting the sweetest and ripest berries for a smooth, luxurious taste. This gourmet coffee is nutty and spicy, with a hint of almond and ginger.

We roast each small batch to a medium-dark state to produce an organic coffee that is free from any unpleasant or bitter aftertaste. The surrounding community and the farmers who grow this organic coffee benefit directly from the production of this particular Sumatran coffee; the revenue that is generated is used to develop the community and empower the people by providing educational needs. This is an exceptional gourmet coffee.

We would urge you to think long and hard as buying this coffee from another source will encourage this practice of battery farming.

Our coffee is certified, so we know where it has come from and that the civets are not battery farmed; here is a bit more about the coffee:

Kopi luwak or civet coffee, is the world's most expensive and low-production variety of coffee. It is made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract. A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In the digestive tract, the civets' proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Passing through a civet's intestines the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape. After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee with much less bitterness.
